In the summer of 2013 I was commissioned to work on the site of a local Tex-Mex restaurant by the name of Andy's Home Cafe. Andy's is a Houston institution and has been around since the late 70s. They serve the best grub out of all the Mexican places in H-Town and I always seem to have a hankering for their cheese enchiladas (the best in town by far) or an order of beef burritos with cheese. Alright, I'll let the cat out of the bag. My great-grandmother owns the restaurant, so of course I may sound a little biased. I'm not lying, though! They really do have the best Tex-Mex food I've ever had. And they're open 24 hours a day, 364.5 days a year! Can't beat that.
So, a little about the design. I wanted a design that matched the decor of the restaurant. Their main logo is red, and the inside walls are beige. So that's what I went with. The building is made of painted brick, so I went with a tilable brick background. This is actually the first HTML site I coded entirely by my self and finished.
Photoshop CS5, Textpad, about a month.
